Collecting of Hair temporarily suspended due to Corona Pandemic
Sri Lanka’s biggest salon chain, Ramani Fernando Salons, is now accepting hair donations to make wigs for cancer patients! This is an ongoing program that will continue for the next few months.
How It Works
If you want to donate, any Ramani Fernando Salons in Colombo will give you a free hair cut and style. There are 4 easy steps to donate:
- Ensure you have at least 8 inches of hair to donate
- Call your nearest RF salon (or whichever is your fave) (🔗)
- Make an appointment for the donation and free styling
- Visit the salon at your given time. Done!
Once you’re done, don’t forget to email your name, address, contact number, and appointment date to ramanif@gmail.com so that they can have it for their records and send you a certificate of appreciation.
Who Does It Benefit?
Ramani Fernando Salons are working with the Cancer Care Trust (CCT) (🔗) to collect and sort hair, and then make wigs for cancer patients in Sri Lanka. You can contact the CCT’s Hope Line on (+94) 11-236-3211 to find out more.
They’ve enlisted the help of Sri Lanka’s only human hair wig maker, Lalith Dharmawardena to create the wigs. You can watch him in action here. (🔗)
